Petrojam as a for-profit entity should hedge crude oil from their own resources....it is no different in principle from Jamaica Flour Mills hedging the price of wheat.

Extricated from debt
The Jamaican debt dynamics is overgrown and unsustainable with gross public debt at 129% of GDP (2009/10) there is no chance that creditors will ever be paid in full. It took Argentina ten years to reduce its debt to GDP ratio from 165% (2002) to 44.2% (2012). A large part in achieving this was it having defaulted on its public debt in 2001.

JSE stock picks 2013
It was a very disappointing year for investors on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. The main index declined by 3.35% and the much over hyped junior market was down 12.77%. This is the first year in the past decade that the number of top performers fell below 10. Only six (6) companies on the ordinary market made gain in 2012 ranging from 0.11% to 67.88%.
