JSE stock pick 2008
It was another difficult year for the market in 2007, with the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) main index advancing nominally by 7.2% but in real terms it actually declined by more than 7%. For 2008 we expect to see more of the same, nominal growth and real decline.

The social housing thrust
As at March 31, 2005 the net assets of the Trust was $46.3 billion of which loans receivable accounted for $44.1 billion. In other words, if the Trust paid off all its debt at the point in time it would be left with $46.3 billion to lend to contributors, and so far it has lent $44.1 billion.
